These are our courses in winter 2025/26 (October through February), how to register for them, and their current status:

The status indicators have the following meaning:

  • Not open yet means course registration has not yet started; please don’t send email.
  • Open means you can declare your participation interest (always through the StudOn section).
  • Waitlist means the max. number of students has been reached; you can still join the waitlist.
  • Closed means registration for the course, including the waitlist, is not possible any longer.
  • Not for the foreseeable future, Not this semester and Talk to us means what it says.

Registration / interest declaration

For all our courses, FAU students declare their interest in participation by joining the StudOn section. The StudOn section’s README explains how registration will proceed. Please read it carefully and proceed accordingly.

  • Most notably, joining the StudOn section only declares your interest in participating in the course. It does not mean that you got a seat. Seat selection only takes place the week(end) before classes start. All StudOn sections are open to anyone.
  • If you end up on the StudOn waitlist, you don’t fulfill the formal requirements and need to fix this yourself (we can’t help you and we won’t admit anyone where the system tells us they are not eligible, because we won’t be able to enter a grade.)

If there is no README or StudOn section yet, please be patient.

Anyone sending us email, asking to skip the line, will be sent to the end of it. Everyone has to come to the first class session. If you have not been assigned a seat and want to maintain your chances of getting in, please come to the first class session.

If you think you have to send us email, please read this post again. If you still think you have to send email, don’t send them to Prof. Riehle, send them to the teaching team. The teaching team alias can be found in the sheet linked to under Code in the table above.

Seminar / Praktikum / Project

Generic modules like “Seminar”, “Praktikum” (Informatik Bachelor), and “Projekt” (Informatik Master) can be fulfilled either by taking one of our canned courses like NYT for Seminar or AMOS for Praktikum/Projekt, or by talking to us to create a one-off individual Seminar or Praktikum/Projekt to fill the generic slots (SEMI, PRAK, PROJ respectively). If you want your own individual course, you should address us directly. The best approach is to read up on our research and/or look at available theses. The thesis topics give you an idea of current on-going work in the research projects. Then send us your C.V. and explain your interests and we will respond, typically quickly.

Teaching time tables

Our teaching takes place at defined time slots. If Campo or StudOn says something different, it is incorrect.
